America The Best

A premium has been placed on creating an environment where the best possible ideas about our American future can come together.

America the Best was a one-day conference, held on September 28, 2010, that sought and found ways to transform how Americans think about and respond to climate change. The conference brought together over 60 of America's leading social scientists and practitioners from the academic, NGO, foundation, government and corporate sectors who shared a commitment to engaging public support in addressing climate change and were willing to share their knowledge and collaborate on strategies to move forward.

America the Best participants conceptualized a vision of a better America and specific strategies on how to make that vision a reality through three working sessions. Preliminary findings of the conference were available to participants who could incorporate and disseminate them in their own work. ecoAmerica has synthesizing the results in a final report that includes go-forward strategies based on the findings from Session III.

America the Best was funded by The Energy Foundation, The Flora Family Foundation, Rockefeller Brothers Fund, Cherokee, The Bonwood Foundation, and the Mohit-Blachford Family Foundation.
